New Excalidraw Version (new fonts, UI, ...)
Hi,
I was wondering if you plan to support the new Excalidraw version at some point. The website uses new fonts and changed their UI slightly. Notice the blackboard bold A in the screenshot:
Best!
I tried to update it, but it looks like the @excalidraw/excalidraw@next package does not contains these changes. Am I missing something @dwelle ?
Upvoting this request - the new fonts are github compatible on SVGs so would be a nice addition :-)
One more version has gone out. Looking forward to this update.
FYI:
- the last stable version of the excalidraw package (0.17.6) was published 6 months ago
- nightly release seems broken
So I'm kinda stuck here
there is an open issue for releasing v18 see https://github.com/excalidraw/excalidraw/issues/8771
v18 of Excalidraw, and with this the possibility to update its vscode extension, seems to be on its final stages... see https://github.com/excalidraw/excalidraw/pull/9127
its moving fast: all checks passed, just one review missing!
review done!
merged into master!
Release v18 issue closed https://github.com/excalidraw/excalidraw/issues/8771
Npm download for v18 https://www.npmjs.com/package/@excalidraw/excalidraw/v/0.18.0-d92384b77-3
Official Release will took some weeks:
should be available in few weeks, we are fixing the last bits
see https://github.com/excalidraw/excalidraw/pull/9127#issuecomment-2710274343
I played a bit with the beta release on smallweb, it works quite well: https://excalidraw.smallweb.run
I probably want to use this upgrade as an opportunity to move from create react app to vite though.
oh -short some weeks ;-) release just happened: https://github.com/excalidraw/excalidraw/releases/tag/v0.18.0
Here is a vsix of the extension containing the latest excalidraw release: excalidraw.zip
It would be neat to get some of you to try it before I release it to the store! Just unzip the file, then run:
code --install-extension excalidraw.vsix
@pomdtr just gave it a try: works like a charm :-)
- installable (renamed it to ...18)
- version info is v3.8
- new feature like editable dimensions (
Editable element stats) are available
see:
Many thanks for your work!!
Ok I just published it to the vscode store, it should be up in a few mins :)
@pomdtr would be great to have latest version also as release in this repository, so that one could easily see what has changed e.g. 3.8.0 vs 3.8.1..
Hey @pomdtr! Would you mind publishing the new version to open-vsx as well? That would be awesome! 😊 https://open-vsx.org/extension/pomdtr/excalidraw-editor
done!
perfect. Currently it seems to be published as git tag, but not as github release? see
Good point. Just added a release for the tag
awesome!
