This gradle task is quite helpful for users, who has problems with setting up retrolambda on MacOS. I consider it to be added to Configuration or Known Issues block.

https://github.com/evant/gradle-retrolambda/issues/61 already has quite a few examples for getting it working. Might link to that. Honestly, I think hardcoding the path in you user's gradle.properties is the simplest approach.
