macOS Monterey: Microphone input does not record anything into waveform
Hi, I've enabled Microphone input in Audio Settings, and when I press Record, all I get is this:
(the Microphone input in macOS Audio settings is set to maximum, too)

what might be going on here?
Check in the Mac settings under Security & Privacy -> Microphone and make sure PaulXStretch is enabled in that list...
@essej PaulXStretch is enabled in the list for Security & Privacy -> Microphone

What would be my next port of call? What should I try next?
And another thing: If I open up the Audio Settings and tap on my laptop microphone, I can definitely see that the input is being received. Just when I press record, no waveform is displayed and nothing is heard when I press play on the newly recorded "empty-looking" waveform.

Comparing the Audio Midi Settings of macOS Monterey and what PaulXStretch shows - both seem to think the Microphone input is mono. I tried setting Num Ins from 2 to 1, or from 1 to 2 - but there seems to be no difference in waveform being drawn - it doesn't seem to get drawn and nothing seems to get recorded.

This is all very strange, since everything records fine here on my Big Sur system, regardless of how many channels I select for input.
Hi, just to second this report.
Neither PaulXStretch standalone or plugin version are capturing audio input on macOS BigSur at present and its difficult to asses the cause :(
Similar to the OP, there are no unrectified permissions issues and I can see the live monitor in the settings window move when there is audio input, but nothing is captured by PaulXStretch standalone.
Similarity, the plugin version does not record any input either and there does not seem to be a way to specify this (in the greyscale version there were clearly visible tickboxes in the UI that are not viewable in this version as far as I can tell)
I made the assumption that by setting up the audio configuration in PaulXStretch standalone, that the plugin instances also inherit this "global" setting, but that had no affect. (Is there a manual available tor reference btw?)
I note that your version is running fine on Big Sur, so its quite unusual that its not working on my system unless of course there is configuration issue in the release, but that is throwing darts in the dark of course lol. Glad to assist with tests /specs etc if wanted.
