Revive "windoes" flavor with quickshell
What would you like to be added?
How will it help?
The first time I got to know about end-4/dots-hyprland is when the "windoes" flavor came out.
It's really cool to have a "windows" that is actually Linux.
The current illogical-impulse is also cool indeed, however I still would like to use a "windoes" flavor if that's possible.

Why not yet
- I've been asked many times to revive the Windows rice. I told them I would make a Windows 12 clone when it comes out, because repeating Windows 11 would be a bit boring.
- But given the state of things, people are sticking to Windows 10 and Microsoft is struggling to even get people to Windows 11, it's unlikely we'll get Windows 12 soon.
Technical details
- Memory usage: With Quickshell it's very easy to dynamically load components, so it should be easy to have a "Windows mode" without even having to restart the shell
- The services should be reusable, and have evolved far beyond what I had when making the Windows rice, so no problem there
The plan
- It would be nice to have the items in the Game Bar draggable this time, so I'd like to first implement a "floating draggable widgets" system that'll power the movable background widgets in #2250 and serve as a building block for an overlay for #2231 and #2303
- Somehow restructure the Quickshell config? Most things will have to go a layer deeper... I'll have to give it some more thought
Fun fact
When I first tried Quickshell, my goal was actually to create a new Windows 11 clone, but I failed. A year later when I came back I was more interested in rewriting my AGS config
I need a new parody name for this, preferably something similar to "Eleven" If it was 12 instead of 11 there would be "twisty twelve", but that's not the case...
i11ogical windoes
nah it should be totally different
Or Something contains she11...
Quickshe11
Windshe11
Eleventh Night
This comes from William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. It also means "the time before windows 12 comes".
WindoesNa
Where Na is the 11th chemical element
Ok, the best idea I've come up so far:
NaW (Or NaWin)
- In some programming language, NaN means Not a Number. Here, NaW (or NaWin) means Not a Windows.
- Na is the 11th chemical element.
- Since it's pronounced as "Now", we are able to make puns, for example make a button that says: "Install NaW", and print a message at the end of installation: "Have fun and enjoy NaW!"
@end-4 What about this one?
I've never heard of that one Shakespeare's work so not too excited about it...
I'm not a fan of chemistry, and NaWin sounds kind of unnatural...
We don't really have to base the name on "Eleven", because "Wind" seems also nice (but the double 1s are again unnatural) and perhaps "Bloom" (how they describe the default wallpaper)... maybe putting a random non english european ish suffix could do? Or maybe someting a little more different like Nanosoft Doors (this one's kinda weird, just an example)
Elewin
Mikosoft Waffles this sounds a bit silly but maybe waffles could be a good idea for the logo because it has grids, and the windows logo is four squares

Better avoid Mikosoft cuz it exists https://www.mikosoft.info/
Waffles is good idea, I like it.
I see... I like visual novels, and I've seen visual novel brands take a random vegetable name and add thie "soft" suffix (yuzu-soft, cabbage-soft) 🤔
Or if it's too hard we can just not have the corporation name and go with Waffles
Merrysoft?
The more proper ish -soft names probably all already have been taken if we're really paranoid...
I think just Waffles should be fine. -soft is very easy to conflict with existed or future branding/companies so I guess we'd better avoid that.
It's just "Waffles" alone doesn't sound like a proper name Like how they have to name the products "Microsoft Word" instead of just "Word" alone
Maybe "-hard" 😳 instead of "-soft"?

Well, it's the code name of flavor so that's fine. Just think about code name of android for example Lolipop.
Some example code names:
Maybe "-hard" 😳 instead of "-soft"?
Personally I'm not a fan of that but it's your decision.
At the very least I will refer to this new style as "waffles" in the code for now. What to prefix it with can be finalized later

uhh it's a joke (though i guess it could be taken seriously because elon trademarked "macrohard")
* [Debian](https://everything.explained.today/Debian_version_history/): Random (?) words like Trixie, Bookworm, etc.
The names for Debian updates are actually all Toy Story characters
what about E11vate (elevate)
what about E11vate (elevate)

ok this one is not really clever or anything but what about Whirlwind
I have a great idea actually lol, since this is hyprland, what about dwindle? It's the way the windows are arranged but also contains Wind
Waffle Wind
What if we use the Roman numerals for 11 XI?
what about dwindle?
if we use some real word i'd still prefer waffle
What if we use the Roman numerals for 11 XI?
roman numbers would not feel very modern
waffles light, don't know, seems right, kind of rolls of the tongue, waffles light, waffles light. hmm
Well, let's look at naming conventions. Illogical impulse seems to mean an adverb action clause, so let's say, misguided management, something like that. Maybe starting with m or w as a nod to Microsoft Windows.
