Feature Request: Please support drag&drop reordering of columns in EuiDataGrid

Thinking about how Discover has built their own UI for much of their datagrid configuration UX, I think it would be great to have not only dragging to re-order columns but also have a drop zone to discard a column, and potentially support the ability to drag a column into the grid either from an entirely different part of the app or from some container the grid could provide (I'm not very sure on that last one).

We are still getting enhancement requests on this feature, so would be nice to add it to the EUI data grid.

Hey @ninoslavmiskovic 👋. As of now, we're unlikely to prioritize this work.

We're passively looking for another team within Elastic to take over ownership of the EUIDataGrid -- it's grown from a component in the EUI library into a mini application in and of itself -- well beyond what we'd ever intend for an EUI component. We're hoping that long term, one of the teams that are closer to it will be willing to take over ownership.

In the meantime, we plan to rely on outside contribution for new features. We're of course available for guidance and help here. We don't want to be a blocker for a key feature, so if this is important I would highly encourage you to see if you could get it into your team's engineering backlog.
