Making smooth animation when switching between windows

Describe the current state

Right now, the app just pop the overlay window when switching between windows

Expected behavior

Having a smooth transition animation when switching between windows

I had an idea about this feature.

Not sure how valid it would be, though (since it's more like a workaround than a proper "fix").

Since the app already has a slider to change/set the dim level, it could "use" the same feature like this:

The dim level is set to X, so every time the overlay is created, it starts with dim level 0 and goes to X in Y seconds/milliseconds.
