Oops, forgot to revert that commit on develop branch. We made a mistake reading the docs. We did not include that commit on the 2.7.7 release branch.

@Ortham your claims are probably valid, but they are also rather exceptional. I would initially push back to say... if it is "that easy to get it so wrong" then...

If we need to convert a non-string byte array (as in actual raw bytes) to qstring for comparison or printing, then we should convert it to hex or base64 first....

I can't disagree with this. Although the current code is only supposed to _return the window to its previous state_. I think it does drop the window to background regardless...

You should still be able to make edits and click around the fields while the banner is showing. It is annoying though, I agree.
