Add ability to use tabs

Open michalhosala opened this issue 9 years ago • 6 comments

Added functionality which addresses issue #174, i.e. ability to use tabs instead of spaces during formatting. New command line switch /usetabs was introduced for this purpose.

Hi @michalhosala, I'm your friendly neighborhood .NET Foundation Pull Request Bot (You can call me DNFBOT). Thanks for your contribution! In order for us to evaluate and accept your PR, we ask that you sign a contribution license agreement. It's all electronic and will take just minutes. I promise there's no faxing. https://cla2.dotnetfoundation.org.

Is this project abandoned?

@anderejd See issue #267, specifically, davkean's reply. I think this is still being used internally in MSFT, but no support anymore :(

I know that Roslyn has it's own $ dotnet format tool (.NET Core global tool), which is still very experimental, if I'm not mistaken. I hope this becomes the "new codeformatter" out there.

@tiesmaster Excellent! Thank you so much, I had no idea of the existence of dotnet-format. With an .editorconfig like this it will tabify C#:

[*.cs]
indent_style = tab
