Lines being erased when enter is pressed, and colors not working

Hi, I just worked on getting this all set up, and it seemed to work, I saw colors at the start of the lines, but when I enter a command, the result is still in grey, and it removes a few lines from above the command. I'm using macOS 11.5, and iTerm 2 Build 3.4.8. I'm attaching a screenshot showing what I mean. Screen Shot 2021-07-26 at 11 05 20 PM

Hi @trainboy2019, the colors are only for the shell prompt, i.e. "the start of the line". The command isn't designed or expected to be colored.

What do you mean by the following? I can't see what is being removed from your screenshot.

it removes a few lines from above the command

I also am having lines erased from above the prompt when resizing the terminal.
