Crash on startup in VR
I am getting a CTD on startup when using the latest v1.21 and also when rolled back to 1.1. Initially it will not even make it past a black screen before crashing. It does not seem to begin shader compilation, and the crash log points to "VR Menu Mouse Fix". If that is disabled the log will then point to Spell Wheel VR. If that is disabled as well then the game will make it to a loading screen with a model before crashing, however, shaders still do not compile and no files other than ShaderCache/info.ini are created in overwrite.
Version 1.0 will complete compilation and seems to function as long as Skylighting or Cloud Shadows is left disabled -- enabling either of those does not cause a crash, but causes errors during shader compilation.
Attached are a crash log and CS log using 1.21 without VR Menu Mouse Fix or Spell Wheel VR enabled; let me know if I can do anything else to help!
sameee, Main_RenderShadowMaps smthg about this causing the crash, tried everything fresh install and all but alas nthn, hopefully some attention will get to this and they fix it
Same Thing Happening to me.. All New Shaders Don't work and just crash the DLLs of these. They Work Fine on ENB Seamless Arrow Nocking VR Menu Mouse Fix Spell Wheel VR
Found The Solution Guys.........Wohooooo
You Need These
UpscalerBasePlugin https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/502?tab=files
Skyrim Upscaler VR - DLSS FSR2 XeSS https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/82179?tab=description
Data stucture should be like Data\UpscalerBasePlugin.
Inside this folder you should have ffx_backend_dx11_x64.dll ffx_fsr3_x64.dll ffx_fsr3upscaler_x64.dll PDPerfPlugin.dll SkyrimUpscaler.dll SkyrimUpscaler.ini SkyrimUpscaler.pdb
Do Comment Back to let me know that I helped....
I was so happy when i saw this but nope, even tho i did everything exactly as u did still it crashes i even tried different versions, Main_RenderShadowMaps this thing still shows up from time to time, if you got any other ideas it would be super man
Try Disabling community shaders one by one Also send crashlog and community shader log attach error scrshot as well
Great work Tehsham-K!! I am happy to report that this is working for me now.
Sorry I wasn't able to test this until now -- I was skeptical because I was already using the latest Upscaler mods, but the specificity of your comment helped with regard to what files were necessary.
I haven't gone back to find out which (or whether it was both) fixed it, but I made two changes:
-
I found that I had FSR2 .dlls loading into the UpscalerBasePlugin folder from the previous version (ffx_fsr2_api_x64.dll, ffx_fsr2_api_dx12_x64.dll, , ffx_fsr2_api_dx11_x64.dll) all of which I deleted.
-
The Skyrim Upscaler VR mod by default puts the SkyrimUpscaler.dll/ini/pdb files into 'SKSE/Plugins' -- I copied these to the UpscalerBasePlugin folder as well.
Is this resolved now? Could we get an updated test with the latest test builds? A bit of work has gone into VR stability lately. You can download a test build in the releases tab.
Hey so i Haven’t tested with the latest version I don’t remember 100% but I know that I use the old version in order to get things working but fortunately, I don’t get the window shadows and some other cool features so I’ll give it a shot with the newest bill and let you know, btw

1.3.1 is out, update and provide refreshed data if it's still occuring.
