Have you tried these steps? What steps? Blank wiki?

Is there already an open topic for this issue?

No. Same issue as closed #338

Please include the following information.

  • OS Version: 10.12.5
  • Mac model: 2010 MacBook Pro
  • Dongle or replaced card?: Dongle
  • Used dongle/card: Plugable USB (Broadcom)

Your Issue:

Installed CAT with internal BT turned off after dongle wasn't initially recognized by CAT with Bt on. Reboot stopped at grey apple loading screen about 90%. Rebooted without intervention several times. Same result each time. One finger salute (holding power button) caused strange sleep light and shutdown behavior. Not like normal salute.

Steps done to try to fix the issue:

Booted using verbose mode. Stuck at ioconsoleusers gioscreenlockstate 3 until it finally gave a kernel panic message (over grey screen with power icon)

Currently recovering using recovery partition.

Thanks. I can say I have tried all those steps. SIP I was disabled and my mac is compatible.

I may try again with another dongle (CSR 4.0).

"Me too"x2

OS Version: 10.12.6 [Clean install] Mac model: 2010 Mac Pro 5.1 (2x2.4GHz Westmere) Dongle or replaced card?: Dongle Used dongle/card: GMYLE USB

Have tried this on two different / separate machines (both Mac Pro 2010) and both have the same problem. Tool opens fine and appears to install fine. When it reboots, I hear the chime, it boots to ~50%, then restarts, saying there was an error and "Press any key or wait", after that, it gets to 90%, goes to black screen then white screen, and nothing.

Have tried this over 5 times to no avail..

The WIKI is blank, 'Common issues' doesn't have anything useful.
