Description

I created a container using Ubuntu as the base image, and my local machine also runs on Ubuntu. I launched the container using the --network host option and believed that it was functioning properly.

However, when I started the Docker daemon using Docker Desktop, it became apparent that the 'host' setting referred to the virtual machine. This issue was resolved by replacing Docker Desktop with the Docker Engine. I believe that this solution should be documented in the official guide.

For more details, please refer to this thread: https://forums.docker.com/t/ubuntu-linux-network-host-not-using-host-network/133736/5

Location

Suggestion

I thought there would be a clear distinction in behavior when using --network host with docker-desktop
