Unfortunately you do* since every commit is a post.

*: It's probably a good idea to set a --depth but 1 is too low since it'll only give you the latest post from everyone. (Everyone except me since I've already got my hands full with Fedi, twtxt, Atom/RSS, email, Gemini tinylogs, IRC, and passing notes in class and hoping teacher doesn't see. 🤦🏻‍♀️)
