Add a license
A license should probably be added, because without it whether or not you can view the source code, modify it, becomes sort of a legally gray territory that could be easily avoided by adding a license.
I have specific restrictions in mind but none of open source licenses seem to have what I want, and I'm not a lawyer so I think it'll just stay like this for now. I'm not going to copyright anyone for having forks and making modifications, unless they remove mentions of me being the creator and/or "Shameless plug" message, or upload their fork to extension stores without my permission.

That is not totally true, all public repos on github can be viewed, reproduced and modified within Github as per their Terms of Service (https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/github-terms/github-terms-of-service#5-license-grant-to-other-users)
