sidecartridge firmware 1.0.1 never stops looking for updates or blinking

Open danboid opened this issue 7 months ago • 0 comments

Ever since I updated to firmware 1.0.1 , there is a constantly blinking exclamation mark in the middle of the top line of the main config menu.

The manual says:

Latest release verification

The Multi-device can be configured to check for the latest release of the firmware available. When the board is connected to the internet, it will check for the latest release and display a blinking exclamation mark at the right side of the current version number at the top bar of the Configurator application.

Maybe we can turn this check off but when it is on it should only check once or maybe retry a couple of times after you get an IP address and then the update check shouldn't run again for at least 24 hours. Checking more than once a day seems a bit OTT. The constantly blinking exclamation mark will make users think there is something wrong with the sidecartridge, the SD card or the Atari, its not clear what it means unless you read the online manual.
