No Cameras showing up in Apple Home

Describe The Bug

I am using Hoobs Pro, and for some reason I lost cameras a few weeks ago. Not sure what version I was running at the time, but I deleted everything on both the Hoobs and Home, and reloaded. Hoobs finds my 3 cameras and 2 chimes, but only the chimes show up when I scan QR on Apple Home..

Hoobs Pro running Homebridge 1.8.4 and node 20.19.2

Somone mentioned adding cameras individually back to Home if I was running v14.0.1, but I sadly dont know how to do that. If someone would explain, as that maybe my issue. I also read that Hoobs is running old version of Homebridge and that maybe the issue. Sadly I don't know how to update or change that as I think its automatic on the Pro version...

Expected behavior

I thinght it was like before, load and configure plugin, scan QR code and all the cameras and chimes populated in Home

I've been troubleshooting this for the past 24 hours

If you see the bridge cache in the logs showing all non-camera devices, see if when you go into the home app and click next to the ••• button on +, 'Add Accessory', 'More options...'

All of my cameras were sitting there as 'Nearby' devices. When prompted for the code, I used the PIN in my Ring bridge. At first, it said it couldn't connect. I restarted my phone and the Ring bridge, and then this process worked immediately.

See if that helps?

Also - for Apple TV notifications, I was seeing only doorbell presses and couldn't find any of the old settings in the plugin that 'simulated' a doorbell press.

Since I ended up making an entirely new Ring bridge in HOOBS, I had to go into the HomeKit settings on my Apple TV and make sure that both 'doorbell' and 'activity' notifications were active. The activity ones were OFF by default. Once I turned ON, motion from my doorbell triggered the same window to pop up on my Apple TV.

And I do believe (if I remember correctly) that those notifications are tied to push notifications from the Ring app; meaning, if you have certain motion snooze settings (like for me, I have my backyard motion sensor notifications only come on at night), your Apple TV will mirror those snooze settings (no in-TV notifications unless it's nighttime)

Where do you find the PIN on the ring bridge?

All of my cameras were sitting there as 'Nearby' devices. When prompted for the code, I used the PIN in my Ring bridge. At first, it said it couldn't connect. I restarted my phone and the Ring bridge, and then this process worked immediately.

I’m on HOOBS, so if you go to the bridges section and click on your Ring bridge, there should be a QR code to scan along w the PIN. I believe the default is 031-45-154

Users of HOOBS should contact HOOBS support first and only open an issue here if there is a confirmed issue with the plugin. The screenshots provided show a working plugin. Most likely you just need to add the cameras individually via Add accessory...More Options...Nearby Devices in Home.
