Different buttons for different modes?

First, thank you for this fantastic, life-improving software.

From what I can tell, the bindings defined in buttons apply to all modes. I'd like to specify different buttons for different modes, for example to make mouse buttons 3 and 4 scroll up/down in thumbnail mode, but zoom in/out in a preview window.

Is it possible?

Probably not something the maintainers will want to do themselves. If you have the wherewithal to implement this yourself I don't see any reason why this wouldn't be at worst an addition that is nice for a few people. However I see figuring out how to define the configuration to be interesting

It would be an interesting project for sure, by all means give it a go but no guarantees
