Overly lingering badges

Sometimes the badge number in the icon shows up when that chat is open and the number doesn't go away until later when a new message arrives or I restart. This started recently.

It doesn't go away when restarting the app nor when rebooting the tablet

Thanks for creating this issue. I also recently noticed that behavior.

I think it is a core issue, since we didn't change much in that area on iOS, but I will double check.

It could also be an OS level bug, i.e. on Apple's end🤷🏻‍♀️

no actionable item left, in my experience, the counter is mostly okay meanwhile (while there were issues in the past).

if there is sth. reproducible and/or new findings, we can of course reopen the issue.
