Collectd CPU & Memory Issues

Hi,

We recently integrated mac agent with cassandra running in AWS EKS clusters to get detailed cassandra metrics. We observed that after adding the agent it shoot up the memory and CPU consumption of the pods. Please advise what needs to be done to mitigate the issue. Are there any resource settings to restrict the usage of the collector agent.

Hardware Spec:

  • AWS 3 x c5.2xlarge ring node cassandra cluster

Software Spec:

  • Cassandra 3.11.3
  • Collector Agent - v0.1.12

I got some pointers here summarizing the issue. I could see the same in the logs. Let me try it out. Would be useful to put this in the guide for the consumers.
