Display Invisible Tags
User Story
As a Damus user who is creating events with hashtags, I would like to add hashtags to events without displaying them in the note content, so that I achieve better event organization and discoverability while keeping the note text clean.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When creating events in Damus, I want to use hashtags for better organization and searchability. However, currently the hashtags appear in the note content which makes the note look cluttered. I'd like to separate the hashtags from the visible note content while maintaining their functionality.
When does this problem happen? This occurs every time when creating an event that needs categorization or tagging for discovery purposes.
Describe the solution you'd like Implement a way to add hashtags to events that are processed and searchable by the client but don't appear in the visible note content. This could potentially be handled through a specific NIP implementation that separates tag metadata from note content display.
Describe alternatives you've considered
- Using separate tags field in the event creation UI
- Adding hashtags at the end of notes (still visible but less intrusive)
- Using predefined categories instead of hashtags
Additional context This feature would improve the user experience by allowing better event organization without compromising the readability of event descriptions. It would be particularly useful for event organizers who need to categorize events extensively while maintaining clean, professional-looking event descriptions.
