import scale

Open sampotter123 opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

please add the ability to import ldraw file to real world scale. i see that TobyLobster's version has the ability since v1.1.18 (Bricks are now imported at real world scale (scale = 1) by default.)

thanks a lot for this addon

Import Scale is under Scaling Options. If you set that to 1, it should do what you’re looking for.

sorry i think you misunderstood me, if you import at 1 scale its insanely huge (not real world scale) for example if i import 3024.dat (Plate 1 x 1) the dimensions are as follow x 19.9m y 19.9m z 12m, in reality the real size is x 8mm y 8mm z 4.8mm (scaled down to 0.0004 in blender)

I’m sorry I didn’t mean to close this issue immediately like that.

Yes I did misunderstand. I’ll take a look.

The newest release allows for a smaller import scale. If you use 0.0004 as the import scale, it should give you what you're looking for. That import scale should persist between imports. https://github.com/cuddlyogre/ExportLDraw/releases/tag/2024-07-25-00

One last thing, maybe make this the default scale

I'll consider it. At the very least, I'll add that as an option.
