Make Windows upgrades smoother

Currently, minor (major.minor.patch) version upgrades are installed under a completely different folder, which is a bit of a pain to follow on Windows (need to manually change PATH for example). Also, today I installed a patch upgrade for 0.5 and that still made my shortcut on the bottom bar obsolete (Windows said whatever it was pointing to doesn't exist and do I want to remove it). I just want to run latest release always without having to follow up on changes manually.
