Version 10 ServiceAPI backward compatibility

We are building an integration based on Service API using this nuget package. https://www.nuget.org/packages/MicroFocus.ContentManager.ServiceModel

It's a purely REST API based application with no plugins. Is anyone able to confirm if that package is backward compatible with previous versions. We are hoping to support at least from CM8+.
