Help lost audio from left channel on the monitors or headphones

"It often happens that during playback of a track or while listening in a DAW session, the left playback channel is lost. The volume is visible in the DAW output in Universal Control, but no sound comes out of the left channel on the monitors or headphones. Only after raising the master in Universal Control does the sound start to come out of the left channel at a very low level and distorted, and after a few minutes, everything returns to normal. I’m using a late 2012 Mac mini with Catalina, and I need help because I can no longer work like this.

Hi there. To be honest, that sounds like a problem with the output amplifier chip in the sound card, or maybe a "dry" solder joint on one of the chips in the unit. I don't know which unit you have, but I had similar problems many years with an old Firestudio Mobile because some of the potentiometers were badly worn and had to be cleaned, and eventually replaced.

There's nothing in the Presonus driver itself that could cause this behaviour, as far as I know.
