The [official roadmap for OpenUI5](https://openui5.org/OpenUI5_Roadmap.pdf) at least mentions "OData V4 model / Tree support".
Please also see https://github.com/SAP/ui5-tooling/issues/651 . The mentioned backlog item CPOUI5FOUNDATION-547 is still open, although some preparation work was done in the recent weeks.
The problem rather is that the TypeScript signatures (and the JSDoc comments that they're based on), do not (and IMO cannot) reflect event bubbling. It cannot in general be foreseen...
No substantial progress. Reg. the `LocaleData` part, it was picked up and discussed again in December by another team (responsibilities have been shifted internally) and is now tracked as CPOUI5MODELS-1092....

Reg. 1: the reasoning is the same as in https://github.com/SAP/ui5-typescript/issues/386 . The (long time existing) API design of UI5 in this case does not translate well into the TypeScript world....
