Research to see if we can get an e-mail address linked to the website so people can contact us about the project
Check to see if google can assign us an e-mail address for the https://durhamschoolnavigator.org/#/ domain. If they need some proof of non-profit status inquire would we want to use the EIN for the Code for Durham: https://secure.codeforamerica.org/page/contribute/default. However if we use this, will it preclude other projects from using this? @adamajm @sarahsba. I'll look into this and update you.
This appears to be a duplicate issue to #314
I'd suggest setting up an email for @codefordurham.org (or @codefordurham.com if we can't get the website moved over to .org with help of @copelco @victor-rocha ). That way we can set up multiple project emails over time in a simplified framework.
How about [email protected]
I just created the following address, but if folks prefer other domains that's fine, too. I just want to be cognizant of the timing to get the surveys out and not sure how much of a lift it is to get an address on these other sites.
email: [email protected] pw: SchoolNavigator
Just kidding, changed the password. :)
Just a quick update. I have tried to setup an account with G4NP (google for non profits) but several other chapters and of Code for America have used the EIN to register so Google is not allowing me to proceed forward. I have posted to the support forum and am waiting for a response. I will update once I hear something back.
Thanks team. I think @jtf621 was also working with Adam to get a generic school navigator email using the codefordurham domain. @jtf621, can you share an update on that?
Per Monique at Code for America G4NP is no longer allowing accounts for Brigades. Do we still want to see if we can setup a [email protected] e-mail address? @jtf621 @sarahsba @npage915 @alexlemann @adamajm
[email protected] sounds good to me.
Reached out to Code for America for a [email protected] e-mail.
Code for America set up the e-mail address for us.
The password is dsnLIT1616

Hey @schpatel - can you change the password and send it in a separate, private email outside of github to the team? I made this mistake setting up the previous email address; as this info is publicly available, we don't want anyone who stumbles upon it to have access to the password. :)
Thank you! And thanks for setting up the account. Let's discuss a transition plan as we have already shared the gmail account during next meeting.
Action items will be:
- Updating the reminder email to include this new address
- Setting up an autoforward from the gmail to the new account so nothing is missed
- Coming up with a plan to loop in the new address to anyone using the old one in a non-annoying, non-confusing way
Sorry,
I didn't know this was accessible by the public. I've updated the password and will send it to you shortly.
One more minor issue,
Google will start requiring 2 step verification as off July 29, so we need to perform initial verification for every computer that will be used to access this account. We can take care of this at the next meeting.
