[Question] Are the misspelled `odern` modules meant to be there?

Open 500-internal-server-error opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

I downloaded this module from the AUR and noticed it came with some misspelled and corrupted modules and man pages:

  • /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/odern/Perl.pm
  • /usr/share/man/man3/odern::Perl.3pm.gz

I then found this repository and noticed the misspelled modules are in fact part of the source and not an artifact of bad building or packaging. They seem to have been untouched for a few years, however, so I wonder whether they are an old mistake that never got removed or indeed intended to be there for backwards compatibility with history.

Additionally, the copyright year in the man page lists 2024 with a repeating 24, which led me to also think the "real" modules were also corrupted somehow before finding the dist.ini file and seeing it was also there in the source.

New to perl and learning so I may be wrong, but I figured I might as well ask.
