External monitor doesn't work

The displays section in system settings shows "Could not get screen information".

I have the same problem. xrandr works though. As a workaround I configure my displays with disper.

Ubuntu pretty much gave up on GNOME Control Center already. I have a personal PKGBUILD for their fork (ubuntu-system-settings) and the display settings works, but it's not too stable right now.
