Grassmann.jl v1.0 wishlist

Open chakravala opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

As of v0.8.19 the Grassmann package is fundamentally feature complete, so the development is transitioning into a phase where finishing touches can be smoothed out without worrying about fundamental features https://github.com/chakravala/Grassmann.jl/issues/102

  • v0.8 release series is complete, aside from minor possible improvements
  • v0.9 release series will provide an opportunity for internal API breaking changes
  • v1.0 release will be made when the v0.9 series finishing touches are completed

Users or contributors sincerely interested in using Grassmann may discuss what finishing touches are desirable for v1.0 release.

Transfer TensorNested from Grassmannn into AbstractTensors on the transition to Grassmann.jl v0.9

Further task reminders may be added to this issue in the future for the v1.0 release of Grassmann

Having an in-built function to factorize rotors would be cool. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invariant_decomposition

That's not an important feature I personally need for my own purposes. If you want you can implement an example of a function which factorizes rotors by opening a new issue and discussing it there.

This issue is about finalizing the Grassmann.jl design itself, while you are requesting an algorithm and you are not discussing the design of the package, so your request has nothing to do with finalizing the design of the package.
