Thanks to @Darlelet, we've finally found the bug. A fix was pushed in 2.8-DEV and will most probably be shipped with the 2.7.1.

The 2.4.17 is pretty old. You should try the 2.4.23. But to be sure, it is the stalled sessions issue or the connections closure issue because of the hard-stop-after option...

Sorry its seems I missed your reply. If you hit the FD limit it means there is too many connections opened on your agent. An issue was fixed in 2.4.23...
