Some doubts about the branch of the pipe

I was recently working on calculix, but when I refer to CCX2.12.pdf again, I noticed a problem that I always do not understand. The problem is in the pipeline branch file, such as the branchsplit1.inp file, TYPE=ORIFICE and TYPE=BRANCH SPLIT IDELCHIK2 Is there any connection to the cross-sectional area?
