Cloudera dropped docker support?

Open jamshid opened this issue 8 years ago • 0 comments

Hi, searching on Cloudera and Docker is kinda confusing. Do you happen to know the history and their plans?

I guess this quickstart was a first attempt at running cloudera in docker? http://blog.cloudera.com/blog/2015/12/docker-is-the-new-quickstart-option-for-apache-hadoop-and-cloudera/ But now Cloudera has dropped support for it? Maybe there were problems, e.g. it wasn't reliable or easy to support, or was it more of a business decision?

Note: Cloudera does not support CDH cluster deployments using hosts in Docker containers.

There is no plan to support Docker with CDH at the moment.

Or, is Cloudera simply switching to a multi-node docker deployment? http://blog.cloudera.com/blog/2016/08/multi-node-clusters-with-cloudera-quickstart-for-docker/
