Noob, cannot add plugin, what am I doing wrong?

I am trying to add this share plugin: cordova plugins add https://github.com/markmarijnissen/cordova-plugin-share.git

I just get an error saying the directory doesnt exist??. I am also running on a linux box, if I want to debug on a IOS Simulator do I just install on my mac local instead as a better practice?

I am so lost... Then to add a plugin to my vue framework7 app, is there anything special I should do different than just reference it as I would on a vanilla Cordova install?
