Backpack Expansion Issue and Controller Not Working

After having attempted to increase my backpack space, and realizing that I had to so before buying the last backpack SDU, I attempted to restore the backup. It didn't restore the backup and my inventory is now stuck with broken scrolling (Only 8 slots show up, single item in backpack occasionally disappearing and reappearing.)

My controller also no longer functions with the game. Hex is the only thing I have messed with/changed on my computer, and the controller was initially working.

Controller seems to randomly be working now, but the inventory issue persists. Only 8 slots at expanded 255, or the inventory does not scroll downwards when moving the selection indicator down the inventory screen.

You can hexedit at any point. It doesn't matter if you've bought the sdu's or not. The scrolling issue is a bug caused by increasing the slots. IIRC you can navigate it fine with arrow keys or probably the D-Pad on a controller.

This shouldn't affect your controller inputs at all though.
