INPUT METHOD ISSUES: Cannot enter Pinyin on linux

i am a Chinese and i use sogoupinyin as my input method on my linux PC, but i just cannot enter any Chinse characters though i like this markdown editor very much. A lot of thanks if anyone could offer help.
