Bug: Frame can't be turned on

Open nalim opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

I already received two Frame devices:

1st. device. appeared to be dead on arrival, couldn't power it on. FRAME text shown on the screen while pressing down reset button. Received a new version of charging dock (Mr. Power), problem not solved, then returned back to Briliant.

2nd device (replacement unit). Successfully paired with Noa for iOS, firmware upgraded then the same problem with power appeared, the device couldn't powered on anymore. FRAME text shown on the screen while pressing down reset button. Discharged for 48 hours, no change, problem persists.

Brilliant diagnosis: Frame is not able to charge it's internal batteries, either because of bad contacts between Frame and charger or in battery caps.

My second device was able run from its batteries while waitting for firmware upgrade (in DFU mode/bootloader) so it appears it's more likely firmware problem then hardware one.
