I've seen such messages in a few other places on my wiki as well.

Anywhere in particular you are seeing this? I'm interested to know so that I can find those pages and maybe try to fix this (or at least warn people about it). I'm trying to work out whether this extension is really viable or whether it causes too many problems, so it would really help if you can explain where you see this message.

Visit a page which redirects to another. It says (Redirected from $'"1) above the title.

I don't have this problem on my wiki when using this Markdown extension. I have Markdown active by default.

Have you tried applying this change: https://github.com/bharley/mw-markdown/pull/11 ?

I have that applied and it fixes a lot of compatibility problems.

I have not. I was waiting for a release, but looks like that isn't on the horizon. I'll try it out when I'm free and report back.
