I consider putting the gradient detail thing in the gradient dropdown, when you hover the gradient, so that one can add and remove points there.

How? I'm not sure about understand your idea, but some like this I think can be nice gradient points

Interesting. That's not what I meant but that can be nice.

I was rather thinking that when the mouse hovers the back fill toolbar at the top, now you get more options. We can add as well the miniature of the gradient with points.
