Does this integration use Ion Auth?

Hi. I'm searching for a "start point" for a Codeigniter project and this seems perfect. However in readme says it has a dependency on Ion Auth however I can't find it in the code. The user and login models seem to be coded apart from Ion Auth. Thanks.
