Feature request: Variable font support

There are few things hotter in the graphic design community than variable fonts, and they have been for the last few years. There is now broad support and I can't think of something that feels so "Processing" as variable font typography.

Can we PLEASE have native variable font support in both the Java and Javascript versions of Processing?

I can't find any resources on the internet about variable fonts in Java. I've even asked on stack overflow.
