[1.11.4] MA Blendshape Sync breaks on build when under nested MA Merge Animator components

Open IlexisTheMadcat opened this issue 9 months ago • 4 comments

I have some MA Blendshape Sync components that are loaded into my posing system. They sync correctly in edit mode, but break on build, whether in play mode via GestureManager or loaded into VRChat. My setup is as follows.

I could share more information if needed such as specifics, always thought nested FX layers could cause issues. Most likely solution might be to evaluate controller merges inside-out first, but that might be already done. The only issue I have with this puppet thing is the blendshape sync, other toggles on it work.

It's a bit difficult to understand the example here. Which animator is animating the original blendshape, and how have you configured blendshape sync?

Which animator is animating the original blendshape?

The one animating the "Body" is the second animator merge (VRC FX), which is under the first one merging into the avatar (Controller_LPS Posing FX).

How have you configured blendshape sync?

The blendshape sync is set up like you would normally. In the example, "RacerUnderwear" has a breast size blendshape that is being synced to the "Body"'s breast size. Again, the aforementioned Body is what's being animated by the VRC FX controller.

To reiterate, for some reason VRC FX's toggles work normally (so it's merging properly for the most part), but the blendshape sync isn't being evaluated thus not animating the clothing when the body is animated.

I tried reproducing the issue on the 1.12 alphas and things seem to be working. In my case, I set a FX Merge Animator on the nested avatar to animate breast size, and confirmed that it could be synced over to the outfit. Can you please try our the 1.12 alphas/betas and see if it's fixed for you?

I will follow up on this when I am able to recreate the situation again, I decided to bake my MA avatars using manual bake for use with my posing system.
