Updating Big Sur

Can one just normally update Big Sur via system autoupdate or is this a no-no and one needs to reinstall the next version from scratch? Probably missed such an obvious information somewhere :> [iMac 13,2 late 2012, working like a charm BTW]

Unsupported machines are excluded from the Apple OTA service as the are excluded from booting the Big Sur installer unless you patch the installer. There is a way to enable OTA used in the OLP (Open Core Legacy Patcher), but there are risks coming with it. So take a look at #154
