The classic version gave great detail results on a search term such as "computer repair" nearby to a particular location. It would tell you the name of a firm, the website, email address, phone number and even the precise distance of each result from the location. The new one strips all that away, just leaving a list of results - company name, address. No contact details, no distance. SO much extra work is then required to find the details previously obtainable in seconds. New = horrible. Classic = just that - absolutely marvellous! Why take a Rolls Royce and turn into a Daewoo?
You do realise this project is nothing to do with Google?
It was the dislike for the 'new' maps that lead to the creation of this :)
... but yes adding details of search results is a valid feature request. Its on the todo already.
Hi, oh, of course. I'm sorry if my remarks could be misunderstood. They were directed at Google. Meanwhile I have found a fix on G maps. Will post later. I assume it's only temporary and Google will close this loophole soon.
