custom-email-verifcation missing change email button

When using this custom verification process, https://github.com/azure-ad-b2c/samples/tree/master/policies/custom-email-verifcation, I do not have an option to change the email address during sign up after verifying code. If I get the error message "User ID already exists", which only shows after verifying the code, I do not have a way to change the email address. I instead need to cancel and restart.
