Unable to integrate with MVC

As per the article here I tired https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/3ff6df/jquery-grid-with-Asp-Net-mvc/ but getting an error as jquery-3.6.0.min.js:2 Uncaught TypeError: $(...).grid is not a function any idea?
