I would like a mentor
Question: Have you read the mentoring guide? Please only submit this request for general mentoring (not GSoC).
Answer: Yes I have read the mentoring guide.
What is your background? Any experience with Go, Kubernetes, React, Typescript, etc.?
Answer: I have a good amount of experience with kubernetes and am in the process of learning Go.
Is there any particular issue you'd like to work on? You may want to check out the list of good first issues.
Answer: I was thinking maybe 8275
Do you want to work with your mentor async (i.e. by Slack messaging or issue comments), or sync (e.g. using Zoom video)? Please include your time-zone if you want to work sync.
Answer: async should be fine

Does it have to be an issue with the good first issue label?
I can't really find any with that label that are either not being worked on or appropriate for me.
I've found this one, which has the xs label. Would that be a reasonable issue to pick up?
You can pick any issues as long as you are confident to drive it to completion. We may not have identified all good first issues yet.

I think I'll pick one of these dependency removal tickets under the tech debt label. I'll look to work on this one.

I've made an initial attempt at that issue. I've updated the issue with my attempt.
I'm not at an impasse, but it would be really great if someone could give what I have done a once over to see if it is sensible.

It doesn't handle nested templates yet. I think I'll have to remove the regex and go with a different approach to extend to solution to nested templates.
