Development no longer active.
I started this project as a learning experience. I'm an animator wanting to learn how to code, and while fun it takes a lot of time.
Blender is transitioning to a more robust animation module, which is great but most likely will break AnimAide. Life is getting in the way of me continuing to develop the addon at this time, so I ask if anybody would be willing to fork it and continue the journey for the Blender community. I'm sure a real coder would make AnimAide even better.
There is a list of forks but most of them are of old code and don't know if they are maintained.
If anybody wants to do it (and gives me the info) I will link it on the main page so people know where to go.
Thanks.
sad to hear but definitelly understandable. hope everything is well.
Thanks for an amazing add-on!
Thanks guys! @lucianomunoz everything is fine, just can not commit to the development at the moment. I loved learning to code but sometimes can be overwhelming. I have tried to convince Francesco and Hjalty how important these tools are for animation but so far they don't seem interested. I'll try once more. Maybe I will write to Jason Schliefer who is in the animation module team (I worked with him on several projects at Dreamworks).
That's very sad to hear, i had lots of fun using that addon for a while.
I do not make any promises, but when I manage to get back animating on Blender I will try to remember passing by here to see if there's an issue or two I can help with.
Thanks for your great work so far!
Damn, yes Animaid is super important, I use it all the time, even for simple project it has become essential to me. Crossing fingers someone can take the torch, 3.6 just broke it by removing "Only show selected F-curve keyframes" from the view menu I think.
For this I'm not a good one in coding animation but I could keep track of code and make sure pull requests are compitable with the latest version at least so if you need the help of another maintainer, I'm happy to assest you won't fork it, instead will just make eye open on pull requests, so anyone who forked could collaborate
regards..
