Thanks. I can see the decreasing version case making sense in its own terms but it seems to me that it should not happen unless the PAUSE author explicitly causes...

This has been around for much longer than just this release. That doesn’t meant we wouldn’t very much like to ship a fix in this release… once it becomes clear...
