Extent Report does not show test as fail if it fails before logging pass status of test to extent report OR if extent end test is not executed

Summary

The ExtentTest Report is showing as Failed but the status is showing as Passed. status = TestContext.CurrentContext.Result.Outcome.Status; This shows as passed.

Expected Behavior

Both the Test status and Test Report status should be same.

Current Behavior

Sample

catch (Exception ex) { String ErrVal = ex.ToString(); test.Log(LogStatus.Error, reportVal + " is Not Present" + test.AddScreenCapture(GenericUtilities.Capture(driver, reportVal, newFolder))); }

and the Report shows as Passed
