CEA-608 text track not detected in 1.8.0

Open displayDev-spec opened this issue 3 weeks ago • 2 comments

Due to old change in ExoPlayer (from: https://github.com/google/ExoPlayer/commit/6d0696a3c84f05889e7a9a54025f9ec8cf81c733) there was a need to manually set an "Unknown" CEA-608 text track for certain TS streams in order for the player to detect these text track (using solution: https://github.com/google/ExoPlayer/issues/10175#issuecomment-1098206520

It seems as this solution does not work as of 1.8.0 (but do work for 1.7.1).

Trying to debug it, it seems as DefaultTsPayloadReaderFactory isn't being called for the same streams that version 1.7.1 is using DefaultTsPayloadReaderFactory.

The question here, is it a bug or is there any other implementation that can be used to fix this?
